Reading and Writing Assignments
Reading and writing assignments throughout the year, will be research based. With each unit, academic and subject specific vocabulary will be incorporated into writing pieces, including homework assignments, Collins III, research papers, historical fiction work, and essays.

Academic and Subject Specific Vocabulary are on ambulatory strips that can be used to create concept charts and sentences.
History Frames will be completed as homework. In the beginning of the year, the concentration will be determining fact from fiction in note taking with a focus on how to write an outcome and identify the theme.
The pPERSIAN chart is a graphic organizer for note taking. It is divided into the themes of civilization. Notes from teacher lecture are not copied word for word, but are discussed and than paraphrased. Links are added for imagery.

Various graphic organizers are introduced in the beginning of the year, so that students have the ability to choose which work best for their learning styles by the end of the year and create their own.
Group research, storyboard, and documentary script.
Students will create various digital writing pieces using different applications.
Students will research artifacts and collect data to create a thesis that must be supported with actual evidence.
